Are my photos uploaded to an external server or cloud?▼
No. Both original photos and AI vector embeddings remain strictly on your local PC storage. No raw visual data is ever transmitted to external servers.
Can I search photos offline without an internet connection?▼
Yes. Vision AI models and the vector index operate directly on your computer, allowing local indexing and semantic search entirely offline.
Does it work without an NVIDIA dedicated GPU?▼
Yes. LENS includes optimized multi-threaded CPU execution pathways, making it fully functional on standard laptops and office desktops without a dedicated GPU. NVIDIA GPUs with CUDA enable significantly faster batch indexing.
Do I have to manually re-index when new photos are added?▼
No. The real-time background folder watchdog detects file creations, renames, and deletions instantly, automatically keeping your local index up to date.
What image file formats are supported?▼
Supported formats include JPG, JPEG, PNG, WEBP, BMP, static GIF, and TIFF.
Does LENS alter or compress original photo files?▼
No. LENS scans files in read-only mode and never modifies, compresses, or alters your original files or their EXIF metadata.
